How medical hair loss treatment works
Curekey delivers prescription hair loss treatment entirely online. Patients complete a short medical questionnaire, a U.S.-licensed physician reviews the case, and treatment is prescribed only when medically appropriate. Medications are dispensed by licensed pharmacies and shipped directly to the patient. Care continues through ongoing physician oversight, with adjustments made over time as treatment response evolves.

1
Medical questionnaire
The Curekey process starts with a short online medical questionnaire that takes about 5 minutes to complete. Patients share their hair loss pattern, medical history, current medications, and goals. The information is reviewed by a U.S.-licensed physician to determine whether prescription treatment is medically appropriate.

Physician review & Prescription
Each completed questionnaire is reviewed by a licensed physician practicing in the United States. The physician on the Curekey care team evaluates the medical history, hair loss pattern, and any contraindications, and determines whether prescription treatment is medically appropriate. If treatment is approved, a prescription is issued. If it is not appropriate, the patient is informed and not charged.

Personalized treatment plan
Treatment is tailored based on hair loss stage, individual response, and tolerance. Approved options can include topical or oral medications used for androgenetic alopecia, prescribed at concentrations and combinations appropriate for each case.

Topical prescription treatments
Applied directly to the scalp when prescribed by a physician, based on your hair loss pattern and medical profile (such as minoxidil)

Oral prescription treatments
Prescription medication taken by mouth when medically appropriate and prescribed by a licensed physician (such as finasteride or, when appropriate, dutasteride)

Microneedling derma roller
Included as part of your treatment plan to support topical application when recommended by your physician
4
Delivery to your door
Once a physician approves the prescription, the medication is prepared by a licensed U.S. pharmacy and shipped directly to the patient. Standard shipping is typically 5 to 10 business days from approval, in plain unbranded packaging.

What to expect after starting treatment
Hair loss treatment works gradually. Most patients need at least 3 months of consistent use before changes become visible, with optimal results often seen between 6 and 12 months.
Reset phase
Little to no visible change is expected. Temporary shedding may occur and is a normal response as hair follicles reset their growth cycle
Stabilisation
Hair loss often begins to slow. Some patients may notice reduced shedding or early signs of thickening
Regrowth
Gradual improvements in hair density may become visible as weakened or dormant follicles begin producing thicker, healthier hair
Maintenance
With continued treatment, hair loss can often be stabilised and existing hair preserved. Ongoing use is typically required to maintain results

Quick FAQ
Common questions about the Curekey process. For detailed questions about treatments, side effects, billing, and privacy, see the full FAQ page.
How long does the whole process take?
- Completing the medical questionnaire takes about 5 minutes. Physician review is typically completed within 24 to 48 hours. Once a prescription is approved, shipments usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days. So most patients receive treatment within 1 to 2 weeks of starting the questionnaire.
What if I'm not approved for treatment?
- If a physician determines that prescription treatment isn't medically appropriate for your case, you will not be charged. The physician may recommend alternatives, such as in-person dermatology consultation, depending on the specific findings. Approval depends on your medical history and case suitability.
What treatments might I receive?
- Treatment plans are tailored to each case. Commonly prescribed options include topical or oral minoxidil, oral finasteride, dutasteride (off-label), and adjunctive interventions such as microneedling. The reviewing physician determines the appropriate combination based on your hair loss pattern, medical history, and personal preferences.
Can I message my physician with questions?
- Yes. Patients can message the Curekey care team through the patient portal at any time during the subscription. Questions about side effects, dosing, or follow-up can be addressed by the prescribing physician or care team without needing a new appointment.
When do I see results?
- Hair loss treatment generally takes 3 to 6 months before visible changes appear, with optimal results often seen between 6 and 12 months of consistent use. Some patients experience temporary shedding in the early weeks as the hair growth cycle resets; this is a normal response and not a sign of treatment failure.
